How to Tell if Your Loved One is Suffering From Nursing Home Abuse or Neglect
No one ever wants to imagine that a loved one is being harmed by the people we hired to care for them. But sadly, it happens all too often. You should always be vigilant even if your loved one resides in a facility that has a good reputation. Some of the more common warning signs include: bedsore; particularly on your loved one’s backside, bruises, sudden mood changes, unexplained medical problems, unexplained weight loss or if your visitation rights are being restricted.
Unfortunately, nursing homes often deny harming the people who reside there and blame the victim. If something does not seem right with your loved one, you should report your concerns with the Georgia’s Ombudsman Long Term Care Residents’ Advocate. They investigate claims statewide. They will investigate the claim and work to resolve the claim, however, they do not work to make sure your family will receive compensation for the expenses that relate to your loved one’s injury. Give us a call today to find out how we may be able to help you.
